President Mike Kirk and Deirdre entertained members and guests to drinks and nibbles at Age Concern Haywards Heath on Saturday 15 January

The first round of the District 1250 Youth Speaks competition 2010/11 took place at Warden Park School Cuckfield on Thursday 20 January 2011.

The (now, it seems, annual) Super Quiz was held again in the Wivelsfield Village Hall on Friday 4 February.

A full house of punters enjoyed a Game Pie supper and then a quiz of highly intellectual proportions – designed, masterminded, run and adjudicated by Vice-President Geoff Dew.

A raffle helped to swell the funds to £1500, all to support The Yews project in Haywards Heath.

New President
in charge

Geoff Dew, a Founder member in 1984 and Treasurer of the Club for seven years from 1996 to 2003, took over as 28th President in July 2011.

The 2011 Ladies' Lunch was held at Newick Park hotel and restaurant on Tuesday 29 November when the post-lunch talk was given by Lennox Cato from Edenbridge, a regular panelist on BBC's "Antiques Road Show."

Before the talk, members and guests were invited to identify the connection between the antiques on a display table: all to do with Indian tea custom, apparently.
